This new enrollment center, which opened this month, provides cruisers who have been conditionally approved the opportunity to finish the interview portion of their Global Entry application. While similar enrollment centers exist in various states, territories, and even Qatar, this is the first one located within a cruise port.
Based on the statement of Carlos Martel, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Director of Field Operations at the Miami-Tampa Field Office, this is a proactive effort by the Miami Seaport to help expedite the Global Entry application process for international travelers departing on a cruise.
The PortMiami Global Enrollment Center is situated within Cruise Terminal D, and it'll be accessible to travelers who are processing both new and renewal applications, allowing them to schedule appointments.

Global Entry enables travelers returning from an international trip to navigate customs more quickly by using an automated kiosk. Enrollees in the Global Entry program also receive TSA PreCheck benefits. The application fee for this program is $100, valid for 5 years and is non-refundable. Certain credit cards may offer reimbursement for this application fee.
Travelers must first complete an online application and then schedule an in-person interview to enroll in the program. In select locations, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency offers an enrollment on arrival option, allowing applicants to complete their interview upon arrival at an international terminal, without the need for a prior appointment.
Earlier this year, CBP introduced a mobile app that enables Global Entry members to verify their identity by taking a selfie while waiting in the security line, instead of doing so at the kiosk. This feature is available at select airports across the country.
The new PortMiami Global Entry Enrollment Center has opened, coinciding with the cruise terminal's record-breaking year, welcoming 7.299 million passengers, according to Miami-Dade County. The cruise terminal serves several popular cruise lines, including Oceania Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Next year, the port will welcome the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas.
