The incident occurred at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport after witnesses said a flight attendant questioned a woman about the holes in her face mask.
According to a gate agent in the video, the woman responded to the flight attendant by calling her a b****, after which she was escorted from the plane.
She asked permission to board the plane again but was refused. At one point, the woman also refused to wear a mask, according to the American Airlines employee.
"On July 17, a customer was denied access to American Airlines Flight 2823 from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Miami (MIA) after failing to comply with federal mask mandate and addressing a member of our team with profanity. We expect our customers to follow our rules and treat everyone with respect when they choose to travel with us, and we take action when they don't," American Airlines officials told Fox News about the incident.
The American Airlines agent captured in the video received plenty of praise for his calm demeanor during the exchange.
