How to achieve AAdvantage status?
Members will earn one Loyalty Point for each AAdvantage qualifying mile earned. Here's how to earn points:
- First of all, members can earn Loyalty Points by flying on American or one of its eligible partner airlines;
- Then, you can also earn Loyalty Points when you use your AAdvantage Credit Card for purchases.
- If you're flying not so often, don't worry - just join other AAdvantage members who will earn Loyalty Points every year, for example, by shopping online or dining out.
AAdvantage 2022 status requirements
- Status: Gold, Loyalty Points - 30.000;
- Status: Platinum, Loyalty Points - 75.000;
- Status: Platinum Pro, Loyalty Points - 125.000;
- Status: Executive Platinum, Loyalty Points - 200.000.
Status extension & doubling up the opportunity
As American Airlines wants to thank its members for their continued loyalty, the company is extending AAdvantage status to all current members through March 31, 2022.
Besides, participants can also double up, as any qualifying activity earned in January and February will count for both 2022 and 2023 as AAdvantage status. Thus, it gives them an extra two months to make elite status for both years.
In the future, members will qualify from March through February, with a status valid until March 31 of the following year.
