Four additional services, including three nonstop flights, are being added to the local schedule by one of the airport's newest air carriers.
Low-cost airline Breeze Airways will begin offering service from RDU to Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Louisville, Kentucky, in May. In addition, Breeze intends to provide Norfolk, Virginia, with a "BreezeThru" service, which is a one-stop service that reduces the passengers' need to change flights.
Currently, Breeze has 143 nonstop flights connecting 35 destinations in 21 states.
Here's what Tom Doxey, Breeze Airways President, said in his statement that promotes the airline's new flights:
"We constantly look for destinations that people are flying today but can't always get nonstop."
Breeze will be the sole airline operating RDU from Louisville. Breeze faces competition from American Airlines and Delta Air Lines for service to Los Angeles, as well as from American for flights to Pittsburgh.

Beginning on May 17th, a year-round Los Angeles route will depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with introductory prices as low as $99 one-way.
Starting on May 19th, the Louisville flight departs on Mondays and Fridays, with fares beginning at $39. The seasonal flight runs through September 5th.
Beginning on May 18th, the Pittsburgh flight departs on Thursdays and Sundays, with fares beginning at $39. The seasonal flight runs through September 5th.
Breeze, a Utah-based airline that began operations in 2021, said it would start flying to RDU in November with three routes: Hartford, Connecticut; New Orleans; and Providence, Rhode Island.
