The popular Global Entry program's cost will be raised by the federal government this fall for the first time in over 15 years.
Beginning on October 1st, the application fee for Global Entry will rise to $120, as stated by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). It currently stands at $100.
Here's what was emphasized by CBP in its statement:
"As these programs have developed and grown, updating the fee structures is crucial for the sustainability and management of the programs."
Although the fee is increasing, CBP mentioned that applicants under 18 will be exempt from the application fee if a parent or legal guardian is already a member of the program or applying themselves.

Global Entry is a component of the Department of Homeland Security's Trusted Traveler Programs, enabling travelers returning to the United States from an international trip to streamline the customs process. Applicants must undergo a background check and complete an in-person interview, which can be arranged upon their return to the US via the Enrollment on Arrival program or even upon departure through the new Enrollment on Departure program at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
Travelers with a Global Entry membership also benefit from TSA PreCheck.
Various credit cards, including those from American Express, Capital One, Bank of America, and Chase, will reimburse cardholders for the application fee.
In addition to the Global Entry cost increase, application fees for the NEXUS and SENTRI programs, which facilitate expedited security when entering the US from Canada and Mexico's land borders, respectively, are also being adjusted.
The NEXUS fee will rise from $50 to $120, while the SENTRI fee will shift from a flexible fee structure to a fixed fee of $120.
