According to the filing, Fiji Airways intends to offer 3 weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, as soon as the necessary government approvals are received.

The news of this filing comes after Fiji Airways recently joined the Oneworld alliance, an airline partnership that includes several major carriers. The airline also announced that it'll soon join the American Airlines AAdvantage program, allowing travelers to earn and redeem miles on both airlines, as well as enjoy travel benefits for elite members.
Here's what Andre Viljoen, the CEO and Managing Director of Fiji Airways, said in a statement:
"This loyalty partnership represents a significant milestone, bringing together two renowned airlines to offer new benefits to millions of travelers. We're excited about the positive impact this collaboration will have on both our airlines and our guests, who will enjoy exclusive perks."
If the government approves the new route request filed by Fiji Airways, it would be an additional benefit for passengers of American Airlines, which has a major hub in Dallas/Fort Worth Airport (DFW). American currently doesn't offer any direct flights from Dallas to Fiji but provides travelers the option of connecting through a variety of Fiji Airways hubs, such as Los Angeles or San Francisco, for a booking.
