The new year-round route will begin on February 15th, 2025, with flights twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Miami. The flight will be operated using an Embraer 175 aircraft, which can accommodate 76 passengers, including 12 first-class seats.
Here's what Jason Reisinger, American's Managing Director of Global Network Planning, said about it:
"American has flown to Turks and Caicos for over 30 years, and we're thrilled to announce this new non-stop service from the United States to South Caicos starting next February. This will provide customers across North America with faster and more convenient access to this idyllic island and all it has to offer."
American Airlines already operates flights to the main island of Providenciales in Turks and Caicos.
The Turks and Caicos tourism authority, Experience Turks and Caicos, stated that this new flight "will strengthen Turks and Caicos' position as a multi-island destination."

Turks and Caicos is a British overseas territory made up of 40 different islands and cays in the Caribbean. The islands are highly sought after due to the bright turquoise waters, incredible scuba diving, top-notch beaches, and some of the best all-inclusive resorts for families. They're also considered one of the best islands in the Caribbean to retire in.
High season is from about December to April when the weather is best, but with an average of 350 days of sunshine, there's never really a bad time to visit.
South Caicos sits at about 18 square miles, according to the tourism authority, and is a 90-minute ferry ride from Providenciales.
