The low-cost airline will start flights to the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) from Dallas, Denver, and San Francisco. The new flights will begin on December 16th, 19th, and 21st, respectively.
These new routes are part of more than a dozen others that Frontier is adding as it looks to expand in time for the winter holiday season.
Here's what Josh Flyr, Frontier's vice president of network and operations design, said about it:
"Whether people want to relax under a palm tree, ski in fresh powder, or explore top cities, this expansion offers exciting options at a great value. From the West Coast to New England, and from the Rockies to Florida's beaches, we look forward to connecting even more consumers with our ultra-low fare flight options."
Frontier will fly to EGE twice a week from both Dallas and Denver, and once a week from San Francisco. EGE is about 30 minutes from Vail and an hour and a half from Aspen.
In addition to the new flights in Colorado, Frontier will also start flights in December between:
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and both Miami and Tampa
- Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV) and both Orlando and Tampa
- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Palm Beach
- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and Palm Beach
- Denver International Airport (DEN) and Palm Springs
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Tampa
- George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and both Los Angeles and Miami
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Houston, Portland, Seattle, and Salt Lake City
- Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Fort Myers, Tampa, Palm Beach, Sarasota
- Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) and Denver and San Francisco
- Portland International Jetport (PWM) and Tampa
To celebrate the new routes, Frontier Airlines is offering one-way flights starting as low as $19. Travelers must book by 11:59 p.m. ET on October 7th and travel between December 12th and February 28th, 2025. However, there are some blackout dates during the holiday season, from December 21st to 31st, January 1st to 7th, 2025, February 13th to 14th, and February 16th to 17th.
As a low-cost carrier, Frontier charges extra fees for things like seat assignments and baggage. But the airline has started to provide more inclusive fare options. For example, they offer a business class called BizFare, as well as an "UpFront Plus" option that allows travelers to purchase seats in the first 2 rows with a blocked middle seat.
Earlier this year, Frontier also got rid of most of their change and cancellation fees.
