Another suspicious appearance of a "jet pack man" was reported on Wednesday night near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
A pilot flying near the airport alerted air traffic controllers, who relayed the information to other pilots, KABC-TV of Los Angeles reported.
According to the TV station, Federal Aviation Administration officials confirmed the statement.
"The pilot of a Boeing 747 reported seeing an object that could resemble a jet pack 15 miles east of Los Angeles Airport at 5,000 feet altitude," an FAA spokesman told KABC. "Out of an abundance of caution, air traffic controllers have alerted other pilots nearby."
According to a radio station report, several similar sightings were reported last year near Los Angeles. Last December, another plane was spotted at about 3,000 feet off the coast of Palos Verdes, California.
Some investigators speculated that it might have been a drone disguised as a jet pack operator, Los Angeles-based KCBS-TV reported.
