A new report by Local Insider looked at flight punctuality across the United States, focusing on departures during the holiday season. The study used data from the Bureau of Transportation to determine which airport was the best for on-time departures during the holidays.

According to Local Insider, the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Loudoun County, Virginia, was ranked №1 in the nation for on-time departure flights during the holidays.

The report noted that last holiday season, 88.6% of flights scheduled to depart from IAD left on time, which was the highest percentage among the 50 busiest airports in the country.

During the Thanksgiving and winter holiday seasons, 6,271 flights took off from the IAD Airport, according to Local Insider.

The Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Arlington's Crystal City wasn't far behind, ranking 5th for the best airport for on-time departures during the holidays.
