The airline is now operating 4 weekly non-stop flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and the capital of San Salvador, the airport announced. The carrier will operate the new flights on an Airbus A320 aircraft with room for 174 passengers.
Ronny Rodriguez, Volaris' sustainability and corporate development director, said in a statement that serving the growing travel demand of Salvadorans and Central Americans to the United States continues to be one of the most important objectives of Volaris El Salvador. He added: "Expanding connectivity options at the lowest cost for travelers visiting friends and family or traveling for pleasure and business to the United States is their priority, and it expands their presence in the country."
The new flights, which first launched on Friday, will now take off on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These new flights will complement the one-stop flights the airline currently operates from Miami to San Salvador via San Pedro Sula, Honduras, which Volaris El Salvador first launched in December 2022.
