Starting November 9th, the airline launched flights from Hartford's Bradley International Airport (BDL) to the Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) near Charlotte, NC and North Carolina's Wilmington International Airport (ILM), Avelo shared. On November 15th, the airline started flying from Connecticut to Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) and the Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) near Orlando, followed by flights to Houston's William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).
Also, Avelo said it'll launch its first-ever scheduled international flights from the airport to both Cancun and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Here's what Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in a statement:
"Avelo is proud to be Connecticut's airline. Our customers tell us they love flying Avelo, and we're excited to make flying Avelo even more convenient for travelers across the state... Our presence at BDL is a testament to the welcoming reception Avelo has enjoyed across the state."
Avelo is introducing new routes, which will allow them to operate flights to 29 different non-stop destinations from their new base of operations in Hartford.
These new domestic routes will run twice a week on a Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. Travelers can book one-way fares starting at just $56 if they book by November 14th and travel between January 9th, 2025 and February 9th, 2025.
Avelo first launched in 2021 and has continued to expand over the years. Last year, the airline made its first foray into the Caribbean with flights to Puerto Rico. Just last month, Avelo added even more domestic routes with extra flights to the Orlando area.
Avelo operates on a low-cost model, charging for things like seat assignments, checked bags, and carry-on bags.
