What makes the new Delta One Lounge in Boston special?

The Delta One Lounge in Boston is available to customers traveling with a same-day Delta One ticket, or Delta 360 members flying first-class on any same-day flight. At 6,700 square feet and able to accommodate 121 passengers at a time, this new lounge is significantly smaller than the previous 2. This was a deliberate choice by Delta, as Boston is a smaller long-haul hub for the airline. The reduced size is meant to create a more exclusive and intimate experience for lounge guests.
The new Delta One lounge in Boston will feel very personal and cozy, especially at night, according to Claude Roussel, the vice president of Sky Clubs and lounges. He explained that the entire space is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the city's historic harbor and nearby skyline. The airport is only a 15-minute ride from downtown Boston, which is unusual for a major city.
Here's what Roussel also said about it:
"We have many nice lounges, but this one has one of the most incredible city views. When you come through the front door and have dinner here, you don't really feel like you're in an airport. That's what we aim to do in every one of our Delta One lounges."
The airline's new lounge in Boston is different from their lounges at JFK and LAX because it primarily functions as an elevated sit-down dining experience. There are various dining seating options, from tables for 2 to longer tables for 8, all with rich leather upholstery and even a faux fireplace that's designed to evoke the city's academic history. The centerpiece of the space is the massive, curved marble bar, which has subtle Art Deco design elements and is inspired by Boston's maritime heritage. The bronze accents and fixtures are a nod to the USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned naval warship that's still afloat in the Boston Harbor.

The bar has an open kitchen where guests can enjoy a 3-course, seafood-focused à la carte menu created by renowned Chef Ed Brown. Since most long-haul Delta flights from Boston to Europe are red-eyes, the goal is to provide travelers with a full meal in under an hour so they can sleep on the plane.
There were some tasty dishes that were tried during an early preview. These included a delicate, thinly-sliced octopus carpaccio to start, a buttery mini Maine lobster roll served with a cup of hearty shellfish chowder, and a thick, tender, and flaky piece of Maine halibut cooked on a plancha. The seared fish will change daily depending on the catch. All of this was paired with glasses of red and white wine, as well as champagne, which were among the dozen drink options available in the lounge, along with soft drinks, teas, and coffees. Although the menu is primarily inspired by New England cuisine, there are additional options to cater to all tastes, such as the lumache pasta cooked in a rich yet light guanciale and tomato sauce.
The Delta One Lounge at BOS doesn't have all the high-end amenities that the lounges at JFK and LAX airports have. However, that's not a problem. The Delta One Lounge is located within the larger Delta Sky Club, which opened in August 2023. This means guests will have access to the Sky Club's facilities, including over 400 seats, a buffet area, a grab-and-go station, 6 soundproof phone booths, and a stylish bar with a champagne-colored backlight that has an Art Deco-inspired design.
While the Delta One Lounge has its own bathrooms, it shares 6 large private shower suites with the Delta Sky Club. These shower suites can be booked in advance and feature marble showers, Grown Alchemist products, and plush bathrobes and slippers. In total, the Delta One Lounge and the Delta Sky Club offer nearly 28,000 square feet of relaxing and refined lounge space.
Accessing the Delta One Lounge at BOS is a bit different than at JFK and LAX. There's a dedicated check-in desk, but no separate check-in area. After passing through security, follow the signs for the Delta Sky Club and then check in at the main Sky Club reception area. You'll be directed to the back of the space where the Delta One Lounge is located. The Delta One Lounge is open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., although these hours may be adjusted during the summer months. The next Delta One Lounge to open will be in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in 2025.
