As excitement builds around the Big Game, major airlines, such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines are enhancing their offerings with additional routes to New Orleans. Naturally, Kansas City and Philadelphia will experience the most significant expansions in flight availability.
From Kansas City, American Airlines is introducing flights to New Orleans on Feb. 6, 7, 8, and 10; Delta follows suit on Feb. 7, while United steps in on Feb. 7 and 8, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium Diio. Notably, Southwest Airlines will significantly increase its daily service from one to 8 flights on Feb. 7. For return journeys from New Orleans, American will provide non-stop flights on Feb. 6, 7, 10, and 11, alongside Delta and United on Feb. 10. Prices remain competitive, with round-trip economy tickets on American starting at $895 for travel departing Kansas City on Feb. 7 and returning on the 10th. If you're planning your trip, don't forget to consider Kansas City International Airport parking options to make your journey smoother.
Philadelphia-bound travelers also have plenty of choices. Delta will add flights to New Orleans on Feb. 7 and 8, Southwest on Feb. 7, 8, and 10, and United on Feb. 6, 7, 8, and 10. American and Frontier Airlines already operate regular services on this route. Return flights from New Orleans will be available via Delta and United on Feb. 10, and Southwest on Feb. 7 and 10. Among these carriers, Frontier currently offers the most budget-friendly round-trip fare at $1,667, departing Feb. 6 and returning Feb. 10.
Other notable routes to the big game include American Airlines connecting Boston, Los Angeles, and NY JFK with select flights on Feb. 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11. Delta will serve Seattle on Feb. 7 and 10, JetBlue from Newark on Feb. 7, and United from Los Angeles and New York LaGuardia on Feb. 6, 7, 9, and 10. Southwest's debut into red-eye flights

In a historic move, Southwest Airlines is set to introduce overnight flights starting Feb. 13. These red-eyes, named for their potential to leave passengers with weary eyes after a night spent upright, will initially cover 5 routes: Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix to Baltimore-Washington, along with Las Vegas to Orlando and Los Angeles to Nashville. Due to the time difference, red-eyes predominantly operate eastbound to compensate for the time lost crossing 3 time zones between Pacific Time and Eastern Time.
Southwest's inaugural overnight flights will run daily, with departures from the West Coast scheduled between 9:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. local time, arriving around 6 a.m. local time on the East Coast. The shortest red-eye flight, Phoenix-Baltimore, is timed at just over 4 hours, whereas the longest, Los Angeles-Baltimore, stretches nearly 5 hours. One-way fares vary, ranging from a low of $191 for Los Angeles-Nashville to a high of $484 for Los Angeles-Baltimore. When booking, keep an eye on airport parking rates near your departure airport to ensure a hassle-free start to your trip.

With winter in full swing, Allegiant Air, Breeze Airways, and Southwest are expanding their networks to provide numerous new routes to Florida, catering to those eager to escape the cold. Allegiant will enhance its Gulf Coast connectivity by launching 7 new routes to Sarasota-Bradenton from Albany, Elmira-Corning, Greenville-Spartanburg, Moline, Omaha, Roanoke, and Knoxville, effective either Feb. 13 or 14. These routes will operate 2 or 3 days a week, primarily on Mondays and Fridays, and Thursdays and Sundays, with airfares beginning at $49 to $69 one way.
Breeze Airways, founded by JetBlue-founder David Neeleman, is also contributing to the influx of new Florida routes with at least 11 additions this month. Daytona Beach will gain non-stop services to Hartford, Providence, and Raleigh-Durham, while Orlando introduces flights to Gulfport-Biloxi, Ogdensburg (N.Y.), and Wilmington (N.C.). Fort Myers will see new connections to South Bend and Wilmington. Service on these new routes commences as early as Feb. 5 in Fort Myers, with the majority, including those from Daytona Beach and Orlando, starting Feb. 13 or 14. Introductory fares range from $49 to $89 one way.
Southwest, a leading player in flights to Florida after American Airlines, isn't far behind. It'll inaugurate Saturday-only non-stop services between Fort Myers and Rochester, Orlando and Boston, Sarasota-Bradenton and Albany, and West Palm Beach and Buffalo starting Feb. 15. Fares on these new routes vary from $104 one-way for Albany-Sarasota to $234 one-way for Boston-Orlando.
With these exciting developments, February promises to be a vibrant month for air travel enthusiasts, whether they're heading to the Super Bowl, enjoying a restful red-eye, or basking in the Florida sunshine.
