This holiday booking site wanted to find out where travelers can truly enjoy some quiet time. They started with a list of 76 places and analyzed them based on "safety, solitude, serenity, nature, and wellness." They looked at 9 factors, including how much protected land there is, forest cover, crowd size, and noise levels. Each place was given a score from one to 100, revealing the top 25 relaxing holiday spots for 2025.
After all their research, they crowned Australia as the best spot for relaxation.
"Australia leads this change, topping the index at 73.8 out of 100," the report shared. "As the most soothing vacation spot for 2025, Australia has what busy European destinations lack: room to breathe."
According to the report, Australia hasn't faced the crazy over-tourism that other places have, making it comfortable for everyone.
"Italy deals with overcrowding, while Australia has 50 million fewer visitors in an area 25 times larger," it said. "With locals included, that's just 3.4 people per square kilometer, versus 198.3 in Italy and 626 in Mauritius, the busiest spot mentioned."

The study also pointed out Australia's amazing natural areas that are well-protected, allowing travelers to enjoy them for generations.
"Australia, New Zealand, Austria, and Botswana each keep nearly 30% of their land preserved, which includes many national parks, wetlands, marine areas, and forests," it added.
As for the other top spots, Book Retreats named Canada as the second most relaxing place because of its spaciousness, with just 3.9 people per square kilometer. It's also North America's only entry in the top 25. Following Canada, the list includes Iceland, Finland, New Zealand, Austria, Sweden, Estonia, Norway, and Portugal, completing the top 10.
