Korean Air's success comes from not following the trend of cramming more seats on Boeing 777s. "They kept their original seat layout and a generous 33-34 inch seat pitch, giving passengers a more comfortable experience," said Airline Ratings CEO Sharon Petersen. "We often hear about the lack of space in Economy Class," Petersen said, "so it made sense to consider this when choosing the award winner this year."
Besides roomy seating, Korean Air also offers nice extras like slippers, hearty meal portions, and great in-flight entertainment.
Next in the rankings are Qatar, which won the best premium airline award last year, along with Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, and Singapore Airlines. Surprisingly, no major U.S. carriers made the premium airline list.
JetBlue snagged the title of top Hybrid Airline for 2025. As per AirlineRatings, the hybrid category means it mixes low-cost carrier traits with full-service perks. Following JetBlue, the next 4 are WestJet, Virgin Australia, Delta Airlines, and United.
AirAsia took home the award for best low-cost airline, with Jetstar close behind. Virgin Australia earned the World's Best Cabin Crew award, while Qantas was recognized for having the Best Branded Lounges.
