The partnership between these 2 Taiwan-born entities spans over 2 decades, with Din Tai Fung's inaugural in-flight meal served on February 10, 2002. Recently, the alliance garnered attention when EVA Air showcased a Reel from San Francisco-based influencer Sandy Burrell on their North American Instagram account. The video highlighted Burrell enjoying Din Tai Fung's signature Noodles with House Special Spicy Shrimp and Pork Wontons in EVA's Royal Laurel Business Class, during a flight from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to San Francisco (SFO).
Din Tai Fung's celebrated culinary offerings are exclusively available to EVA Air's business class passengers, specifically within the Royal Laurel and Laurel Class cabins, on select long-haul routes. These routes encompass flights departing from Taipei to destinations like Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA), George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), Vancouver (YVR), and Los Angeles (LAX) on flight BR16, as well as San Francisco on flight BR28.
These dining options also extend to regional round-trip journeys between Taipei's Taoyuan and various Japanese cities, including Tokyo-Narita (NRT), New Chitose (CTS), Kansai (KIX), and Fukuoka (FUK), alongside flights from Taipei's Songshan (TSA) to Tokyo-Haneda (HND), with the exception of flight BR189.

Once onboard, business class travelers can begin their culinary experience with a choice of House Steamed Chicken Soup or House Steamed Beef Soup. The main course features a selection of Din Tai Fung's iconic dishes, such as Juicy Pork Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and the Noodles with House Special Spicy Shrimp and Pork Wontons, accompanied by traditional side dishes like Spicy Beef Tripe or Shaoxing Wine Marinated Chicken.
For dessert, passengers can indulge in Suzhou-Style Mooncake with Sesame Paste-Filled Mini Buns, available in a variety of flavors. More recently, the Honey and White Fungus Sweet Soup was introduced as an additional dessert option on October 1, 2023.
Din Tai Fung's global presence now exceeds 165 locations across 13 countries, including a recently opened rooftop location in Santa Monica, California. The restaurant's origins trace back to a humble cooking oil shop, where owners Bing-Yi Yang and Pen-Mai Lai began selling xiao long bao soup dumplings as a side venture in 1972.
EVA Air, which commenced operations in 1989, is particularly recognized for pioneering the introduction of the premium economy cabin in the airline industry, a concept they launched in 1992.
