Prepare for convenient air travel from the heart of the theme park capital to the Iberian Peninsula later this year!
Iberia Airlines has revealed its plans to introduce a new, direct flight route connecting Madrid with Orlando this coming autumn. Commencing on October 26, the service between Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) will operate 4 times per week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
"We are delighted to announce the launch of these 3 new routes for the upcoming winter season. Leveraging our established connection with Disney Destinations, we anticipate that Orlando will emerge as a premier destination for the forthcoming Christmas holiday period," commented María Jesús López Solás, Director of Sales, Customers, Network Development and Alliances at Iberia, in a statement.
Orlando is globally recognized for its renowned theme parks, including the iconic Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. In contrast, Madrid stands as one of Europe's most significant and vibrant metropolitan centers, boasting world-class cultural institutions, such as the Prado Museum and iconic urban landscapes characterized by photogenic architecture, exemplified by the Gran Vía.

In addition to the Orlando route, Iberia will also be initiating 2 new routes to Brazil. On December 13, flights from Madrid (MAD) to Recife/Guararapes-Gilberto Freyre International Airport (REC) will commence with a frequency of 3 times per week, increasing to 5 times per week in February. Subsequently, on January 19, flights to Fortaleza International Airport (FOR) will begin with a thrice-weekly schedule, also increasing to 4 times per week in February.
"We recognize the significant potential of Brazil, extending beyond the major cities we currently serve. With the introduction of our new A321XLR aircraft, we are now able to explore new trans-Atlantic routes, assess their passenger acceptance, and progressively adjust our capacity to meet the evolving demand," explained López Solás in a statement.
