This 476-acre recreational facility will be situated approximately 35 miles to the south of Bedford, England, a modest township located 60 miles to the northwest of London. Accessibility from the capital city is facilitated by a 35-minute rail journey and a 90-minute vehicular commute.
"Today, we finalized a multi-billion-pound investment agreement that will position Bedford as the location for one of Europe's most substantial entertainment parks, thereby elevating the county's prominence on the global stage," stated U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an official communication.
The projected commencement of operations for this development is currently scheduled for the year 2031.
The announcement also divulged that the forthcoming park will incorporate several thematically distinct zones, "showcasing Universal's signature blend of immersive narrative, exhilarating rides, innovative attractions, and captivating entertainment, all leveraging sophisticated and advanced technological solutions." The developmental blueprint also encompasses a 500-room hospitality establishment and a multi-purpose complex featuring retail outlets, dining establishments, and entertainment venues.

Universal anticipates an initial annual visitation of 8.5 million individuals, thereby establishing the site as the United Kingdom's preeminent attraction. The project is projected to generate 20,000 new employment opportunities during the construction phase, with an additional 8,000 positions upon its operational commencement.
Although specific details regarding the intellectual property franchises and thematic zones haven't been officially confirmed, widespread speculation is prevalent. Theories encompass the Harry Potter literary and cinematic series, The Lord of the Rings franchise, the James Bond cinematic series, and even the Paddington literary and cinematic works.
