To simplify vacation planning for 2026,
Beginning March 14, 2026, the airline will roll out 15 specific routes departing from its primary network hubs, such as Miami, Charlotte, Dallas, and Chicago.
Brian Znotins, American's SVP of network and schedule planning, noted that the carrier is dedicated to providing superior domestic connectivity. He emphasized that these new additions from hubs like Phoenix and Chicago are designed to help travelers reach their 2026 milestones.
The bulk of this expansion centers on Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Travelers looking for airport parking alternatives at PHX will soon see new service to:
- Anchorage, AK: daily seasonal flights (starts May 21)
- Bozeman, MT: daily seasonal flights (starts June 4)
- McAllen, TX: daily year-round flights (starts June 4)
- Rapid City, SD: daily seasonal flights (starts June 4)
- Kalispell, MT: twice-weekly seasonal flights (starts June 19)
- Lincoln, NE: daily seasonal flights (starts winter 2026)
Boston Logan (BOS) will also see growth with new flights to Nantucket and Madison starting June 18, 2026. While the Madison service is permanent, the Nantucket flights are a summer seasonal offering ending in early September.
In the Southeast, Charlotte (CLT) will gain a daily year-round connection to Columbia, Missouri, on June 4, 2026. In addition, a Saturday-only service between Miami (MIA) and Jackson, Mississippi, kicks off on March 14.
From its massive Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) hub, American will initiate daily year-round flights to Roanoke and twice-daily service to Lincoln, Nebraska. If your plans change, remember to cancel airport parking reservation bookings early; both flights launch June 4, 2026.
Chicago O'Hare (ORD) is also expanding, with new routes to Erie, Pennsylvania, and Tri-Cities, Tennessee, starting May 21, followed by a new Lincoln, Nebraska, connection on June 4.
These additions will push American's daily output at O'Hare – which is also a primary hub for United – to over 500 departures next summer.
These routes offer great value for loyalty program members, as American's Oneworld Alliance partnership with carriers like Alaska Airlines allows for seamless points redemptions. When heading out, always prioritize airport parking safety by choosing well-lit, secure lots.
