American Airlines donates almost $2.5 million annually to ground-breaking and life-saving cancer research through its annual fundraising drive with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).
Since joining forces in 2016, this donation represents the airline's largest-ever one-time investment in SU2C. To support SU2C and its goal of making every cancer patient a long-term survivor, American has raised a total of $13.5 million over the course of its six-year partnership.
Here's what Ron DeFeo, the Chief Communications Officer of American Airlines, said in his statement:
"The tragic truth is that cancer has affected so many of us and our loved ones, and we're all inspired to see the effect we can make together when united around a common objective. Thanks to the dedication of our customers and team members, our donation to Stand Up will fund research that has the potential to transform the fight against cancer – and that provides us with hope for the future."
