The airline is introducing a new flight path originating from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The low-cost carrier is launching direct flights from San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) to two new destinations: Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic and Barbados. The service to the Dominican Republic will start on June 14th, while the flights to Barbados will begin on July 3rd.
To mark this occasion, Frontier is offering fares starting at just $59, which must be booked by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 29th. These discounted tickets are valid for travel on select days of the week from June 14th through October 31st, excluding several blackout dates, including July 1st, July 4th to 8th, July 11th to 15th, July 18th to 22nd, July 25th to 29th, September 3rd, and October 11th to 14th.
Here's what Josh Flyr, the vice president of network and operations design at Frontier Airlines, said in a statement:
"As we anticipate an exciting and potentially record-breaking summer travel season, we're thrilled to further expand our route map. More destinations served means more affordable and convenient travel options for consumers across the United States, Caribbean and beyond."

In addition to the Puerto Rico flights, Frontier will start non-stop service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Miami International Airport (MIA) on July 5th. To celebrate this new route, Frontier will offer flights starting at just $29 from the two cities. The same promotional parameters and blackout dates apply to this discounted fare.
As an ultra-low cost airline, Frontier charges additional fees for services like seat assignments and baggage. However, the airline has recently started to provide travelers with more premium options, such as introducing a new business-class called BizFare in February, and adding an "UpFront Plus" option last month, which allows passengers to purchase seats in the first two rows with a blocked middle seat for added comfort.
The airline is also adjusting its strategy by reducing flights to "oversaturated" vacation markets like Florida and Las Vegas, and "increasing service in certain markets that are underserved and/or overpriced."
