BARK Air operates its fleet of Gulfstream G5 jets, each capable of accommodating 14 passengers, both canine and human. However, the airline ensures a spacious and comfortable experience by limiting ticket sales to no more than 9 per flight. Passengers will depart and arrive at airports in the metropolitan areas of major cities, rather than the city centers themselves. For example, flights marketed as departing from New York will operate out of Westchester County Airport (HPN), while San Francisco-bound passengers will actually fly from San Jose International Airport (SJC).
Upon arrival, the airline offers complimentary ground transportation within a 30-mile radius of the metropolitan area.
The domestic routes start at $6,000, while the international routes begin at $8,000, with the New York to Paris route costing $8,500, as stated on the company's website.
Here's what Matt Meeker, BARK's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said in a release about the new routes:
"We're thrilled to expand BARK Air's service to new cities and routes, meeting customer demand and bringing our distinctive, stress-free dog-centric travel experience to even more families."
Since its launch, BARK Air's social media feed has gained popularity, with its videos and photos of dogs going viral. One Instagram Reel, detailing the extravagant amenities available for dogs as they board and fly on the plane, has garnered over one million views.
