Floridians seeking a European getaway will now have an easier route. Travelers will be able to fly directly from Orlando, Florida, to London's Heathrow Airport (LHR) on Delta. This seasonal, winter service will operate from October 26th, 2024 to March 29th, 2025. Delta will utilize an Airbus A330-900neo for this flight, which features the Delta One suites and Delta Premium Select cabins, according to the airline's statement.
This new route is the latest expansion of Delta's Europe to Florida connection. The airline had previously announced new routes from both Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Amsterdam, which serves as a major hub for KLM, Delta's SkyTeam Airline Alliance partner.
In a statement, Matteo Curcio, Delta's Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, shared the following:
"Our new route between Orlando and London seamlessly connects 2 diverse destinations, offering customers a wealth of experiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Floridians can explore London's historic landmarks like Buckingham Palace and enjoy world-class dining, while Londoners can escape to the sunny beaches and world-famous attractions of Orlando."

Also, Delta announced an expansion of its flight offerings from its Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) hub. The airline will be operating its "largest-ever winter Latin schedule," which includes new flights to Aruba and St. Maarten. Specifically, there will be new direct flights to Aruba on Fridays and Sundays from MSP, as well as new flights to St. Maarten (SXM) on Thursdays and Saturdays. In addition, Delta has increased its service to Grand Cayman and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Moreover, Delta shared that the airline will be expanding its service to and from its hub in Salt Lake City, Utah. The airline will begin a new weekly Saturday-only service from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Salt Lake City, running from December 21st, 2024 through May 3rd, 2025.
