The Aeromexico flight departing from Newark will leave at 7:05 a.m. and arrive in Mexico City at 11:30 a.m. The return flight will depart Mexico City at 3:45 p.m. and land in Newark at 9:30 p.m.
Aeromexico will operate this route using its Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, which can accommodate 166 passengers across 16 business-class seats, 18 AM Plus seats, and 132 economy seats. This new plane offers high-speed Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and fast-charging plugs.
Currently, United is the only airline offering non-stop flights from Newark to Mexico City. If travelers wanted to make this non-stop journey on a different airline, they would have to travel to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, where Aeromexico, Delta, American Airlines, and VivaAerobus all operate non-stop flights to Mexico City.
With the upcoming launch of Aeromexico's new route, SkyTeam passengers will now have an additional airport option. Newark will become Aeromexico's 24th destination in the United States, following the airline's recent route expansions to Raleigh-Durham, Washington Dulles, and Tampa.
The new Newark flight will boost SkyTeam's connectivity between the New York metropolitan area and Mexico City, offering a total of 5 daily flights. The partnership between Delta and Aeromexico serves 60 routes between the United States and Mexico, with more than 200 weekly flights transporting over 200,000 passengers.
