Are you flying out of Boston after December 1st and want to enjoy a delicious meal? You're in luck! It's not just about the butter-drenched lobsters at the airport's Legal Sea Foods anymore.

Starting December 1st, Delta Air Lines is teaming up with Shake Shack, a first-of-its-kind partnership in the airline industry. For 7 days before (and up to 24 hours prior to) a flight departing from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), passengers can order a Shake Shack cheeseburger. This order is then delivered to you while you're in the air, at an altitude of 30,000 feet, and it's only available to first-class passengers on routes that are more than 900 miles.

While the airline's famous Biscoff Cookies, another culinary partnership, are great, this Shake Shack offering is comfort food at its finest. Just like at Shake Shack locations, these 100% Angus beef cheeseburgers served on a toasted potato bun can be customized with tomato, lettuce, and Shake Shack's legendary and tangy ShackSauce (a blend of mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard, along with seasonings). And to make it a full meal, there are also sweet and savory additions like chips, Caesar salad, and a brownie.

One reason Delta Air Lines introduced this edible amenity is that they noticed burgers are among the top ordered menu items while traveling.

You can place your order through the Fly Delta app or by following a link in an email sent to passengers on flights departing from Boston. This is the second collaboration between Delta Air Lines and Danny Meyer, the founder of Shake Shack and the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, which is headquartered in NYC. Passengers on flights departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) can order meals from Union Square Events, the catering arm of Meyer's hospitality group.

Even if you're not flying out of Boston anytime soon, don't worry – you'll soon be able to enjoy your cheeseburger too. There are definite plans to expand this partnership to other United States markets throughout 2025.
