The allure of Hawaii's shores beckons this winter, with a notable increase in flight options to the islands on the horizon.
Delta Air Lines has unveiled a series of new and expanded routes to the Hawaiian Islands, slated to operate throughout the winter season. Commencing on December 19 and extending through March 28, a new non-stop service will connect Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) with Kona International Airport (KOA).
Moreover, the service between Salt Lake City and Kahului Airport (OGG) on Maui will commence earlier than its typical schedule, starting on October 6, with 4 weekly flights initially, before transitioning to a daily service in November. An additional daily flight will be introduced during the peak holiday period, specifically from December 19 to January 5, and a second daily flight will also be implemented between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu for the same duration.
The route linking Atlanta (ATL) and Maui (OGG) will also resume its operations earlier than usual, beginning on November 6. While the flights between Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) and Honolulu (HNL) will continue to operate year-round, they will benefit from upgraded aircraft between November 6 and March 28.

"We are pleased to bolster Delta's connectivity to Hawaii this winter through the introduction of new and expanded services, including our new direct route between Salt Lake City and Kona," stated a Delta spokesperson. "With a 10% increase in available seating capacity compared to the previous year, we are providing our customers with more opportunities to experience the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands during the holiday season, whether they are revisiting a beloved island or embarking on their first Hawaiian adventure."
Kona has received notable recognition, being highlighted as a "can't miss" destination by Travel + Leisure, particularly for offering the unique experience of a night snorkel that allows close encounters with manta rays, an activity found in only a select few locations globally.
With more flights to Hawaii this winter, securing hassle-free parking is key. Travelers flying from Salt Lake City can easily reserve SLC International Airport parking, while those departing from Atlanta will find ATL long-term parking a budget-friendly choice.
