Planning a ski or snowboard excursion has become more streamlined! American Airlines recently unveiled a novel route that links its hub in Charlotte, North Carolina to the scenic alpine locale of Aspen, Colorado.


This new flight service is scheduled to commence on December 19, 2025, perfectly timed for the holiday season, and will operate on a daily basis. The route will utilize the CRJ-700 aircraft, with departures from Charlotte at 9:05 a.m. and arrivals in Aspen at 10:55 a.m. The return flight will depart Aspen at 11:40 a.m. and arrive back in Charlotte at 5:05 p.m.

The airline has stated that this Aspen flight represents its inaugural non-stop service from Charlotte, and will augment its existing route between Charlotte and Denver (DEN).


"For travelers seeking a ski vacation in Colorado, American will enhance travel convenience with new seasonal service between Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), and Aspen, Colorado (ASE), commencing on December 19," American Airlines announced in a press release regarding the new route.


American Airlines joins the ranks of airlines expanding their routes to Aspen, following Delta Air Lines' recent introduction of new services from Atlanta, Georgia (ATL) and Los Angeles (LAX) to Aspen.


Aspen, recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the "Best Places to Travel," is celebrated for its mountain slopes, picturesque downtown area, and iconic hotels, such as Hotel Jerome | Auberge Resorts Collection, Aspen Meadows, and The Little Nell. The town also hosts the annual Food & Wine Classic during the summer, drawing culinary luminaries from around the globe to showcase their finest creations.


The introduction of the Aspen route aligns with American Airlines' ongoing expansion of its route network to include new destinations. The airline will also launch new routes to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic from Indianapolis (IND), Nashville (BNA), Pittsburgh (PIT), and Raleigh-Durham (RDU).
