One of the major airline companies, Delta Air Lines, plans to double its transatlantic flight schedule the following summer. The company will add up to 73 daily flights to 25 destinations from 10 cities in the United States, increasing its European summer 2022 schedule by 90% compared to this summer. It means that Delta will offer the most transatlantic flights from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston.

"We're striving to bring back the routes and destinations our customers love so that they can enjoy easy and convenient access to a vast, far-reaching network across Europe and its neighboring regions. With the removal of restrictions on entry into the United States and abroad, as well as an increase in the number of vaccinations and huge pent-up demand, travel to Europe is expected to surge next summer - and Delta customers are guaranteed to be able to enjoy every moment from the curb to the claim."
Delta said it would operate up to 29 daily flights to 23 transatlantic destinations from New York alone, including restoring services to several pandemic-affected cities, such as daily services in Zurich.
Besides, the company will increase the frequency of flights to cities such as Amsterdam, London, Milan, and Rome and resume non-stop services to Frankfurt. From Boston, in turn, Delta will launch two new routes on Memorial Day weekend in Athens and Tel Aviv.
In addition to adding new routes, Delta said that each European flight would offer a Delta Premium Select economy cabin, modernized bathrooms, and new LED cabin lighting.
