It was recently reported that from January through October of this year, around 7.8 million people traveled through the airport terminals in San Antonio. With the most recent November numbers, there were more than 8.6 million passengers overall.
With approximately 500,000 extra passengers scheduled to fly into or out of SAT during the next two weeks, local airport authorities warned that they're preparing for record holiday traffic.
There has been an increase in traffic during the past several months. In each of the previous five months compared to the same period in 2019, United Airlines, for instance, carried more passengers to and from SAT.
In comparison to the same month three years ago, Allegiant carried more passengers in November 2022.
Southwest just introduced a new service between San Antonio and Oklahoma City. The airline also started operating its seasonal flights to Colorado Springs.
The number of passengers at San Antonio International Airport exceeded 10.3 million in 2019. The amount for last year was about 7.5 million.
