In Mexico, the Riviera Maya has been a popular destination with numerous beachfront resorts and a vibrant nightlife scene. Now, travelers seeking a more relaxed, bohemian atmosphere can head further south to Tulum's new Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport (TQO), which recently started welcoming international flights.
Visitors to Tulum no longer need to go through the hassle of reaching Cancun International Airport (CUN), saving them a two-hour journey. The new airport is conveniently located just a 30-minute drive away from Tulum's famous beaches and Mayan ruins.
Leading domestic airlines like American, Delta, and United have initiated direct flights to Tulum, with more routes in the pipeline. This expansion opens up additional travel options to Mexico for passengers from various US cities.

While Atlanta currently stands as the exclusive airport offering direct flights to Tulum, there's a possibility that Delta will expand its services from cities like New York, Detroit, and Minneapolis in the future.
Delta's current Atlanta-Tulum flight lasts just under three hours and is operated using their narrow-body 737-800 aircraft. The airline has scheduled flights tailored for resort travelers, with a single daily departure from Atlanta at 11:10 a.m., arriving in Tulum at 1 p.m. local time. Departing from Tulum, the flight takes off at 2:25 p.m. and lands in Atlanta at 6:08 p.m.

However, by selecting an off-site parking option, you'll be able to drive directly to the entrance, where staff members will help you to pull your luggage out of your vehicle and load it into the shuttle, as well as park your car securely for you. Finally, a free shuttle will bring you and your bags to the airport.
