Starting in October, JetBlue will offer new flights from the Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP). These will include daily service to Orlando International Airport (MCO), beginning on October 24th, as well as 4 flights per week to both Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), also beginning on October 24th and 25th, respectively.
Dave Jehn, JetBlue's Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, expressed the company's excitement about this new development. In his own words:
"Long Island is an integral part of the New York metropolitan area, and we're thrilled to bring our award-winning service to customers in this community. The addition of MacArthur Airport to our network will offer more options and greater convenience for customers, and we're proud to provide new opportunities for more Long Islanders to experience our unique combination of low fares and great service."

To celebrate the new flights, JetBlue is providing a special offer of $49 one-way tickets for travelers who book their flights by June 13th and travel to either West Palm Beach by December 17th or to Fort Lauderdale or Orlando by December 18th. It's important to note that the promotional fare isn't available on Fridays or Sundays, or from November 26th to December 2nd.
MacArthur Airport is situated in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County, and is geographically closer to the Hamptons than it is to NYC. According to the airport, Breeze Airways, Frontier Airlines, and Southwest Airlines currently operate flights out of its terminal.
Shelley LaRose-Arken, the MacArthur Airport commissioner, said the airport is "convenient, has efficient security lines, and provides an overall stress-free travel experience."
Beyond MacArthur, JetBlue boasts a hub at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and flies out of the area's 2 other large airports: LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
While JetBlue is adding a new airport, it's also reducing its transatlantic service to Europe for winter and cutting several other routes, including LaGuardia to New Orleans, LaGuardia to Nassau in the Bahamas, and JFK to Puerto Vallarta.
