While numerous airlines are ramping up flights to Europe next summer, Delta Air Lines is increasing service to a favorite domestic spot: Alaska.
On June 8, 2025, Delta will resume summer seasonal flights from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to Fairbanks International Airport (FAI), the gateway to Denali National Park. This 5-hour flight will be run on Delta's Airbus A220-100, with daily service available until September 9, 2025.
"I'm thrilled to have Delta Air Lines' expanded summer seasonal service, connecting Fairbanks to Salt Lake City and giving our community and visitors more travel choices," said Alaska International Airport's director, Angie Spear, in a statement. "This new route improves our connectivity and highlights Fairbanks' role in Delta's network, reinforcing the existing Seattle and Minneapolis routes."
Tickets are already available on Delta's website, starting at $264 one-way or 22,500 SkyMiles plus $5.60 in taxes and fees.
In addition to Fairbanks, the airline is improving its connections to Anchorage. Just ahead of Memorial Day weekend, Delta will start daily flights from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to Anchorage International Airport (ANC). This trip will take 7 hours on a Delta Boeing 757.

Delta's not alone in adding flights to Alaska for the busy summer season; now there are more travel options to the state than ever. Last summer, United Airlines started its first service from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Anchorage (ANC) and is bringing back these popular flights for the next peak season when most of the state enjoys up to 24 hours of sunlight.
